Someone Found our Weak Point…
…and hit it for massive damage!
Wow, I don’t know who would have the drive or the ambition to break into my apartment, while I was still in it hard at work (and shirtless at that), sneak up to my crappy Ubuntu dev box with a Mac Book and steal some video capture with the iSight! But they did! Exclamation mark!
At least they were polite enough to hack into our YouTube account to post the video and give us a link back… but man. You just never know with kids these days.
Wait, what’s being let out of that ba–MEEEOOOOOW!

This is making me all excited, end of story :D. Me loves me some particle effects, AND Ubuntu action.
July 18th, 2007 at 10:58 pm

July 19th, 2007 at 4:01 am
Ubuntu sales will skyrocket!
Oh, wait…
July 19th, 2007 at 5:26 am
Don’t worry guys, I traced the culprit back to Jimmy (my paperboy).
I can assure you, he won’t be breaking into apartments again any time soon.
P.S. You owe us one.

July 19th, 2007 at 8:30 am
Oh my god… the music… it’s beautiful… by the few songs I heard, the game’s soundtrack is shaping up to epic levels. Also, I loved the menu, the world map seems like a great addition and the game overall seems really polished (even if it’s a beta version for Ubuntu). Can’t wait for the release.

This is truly sad. Period.
I don’t think they “hacked” into youtube and myspace rather then just getting the passwords while they’ve been acessing the machine. Maybe it was someone close to you? I never imagined that something like this could happen to an indie game… it’s… shocking.
I hope things like that won’t happen again, or worse. Keep smiling (and working hard! ;P )
@Czechman: No, it has not been released yet. It was delayed due to polishing it up a bit more.
(Maybe the header image of the main website should be replaced to avoid confusion with the spring release^^)
July 19th, 2007 at 6:14 pm
Um, the whole breaking in thing is a joke. I thought it was pretty funny, but now its scary that some people do not understand that.
July 19th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
HAHA. Good thing he didn’t say aliens took over the development. Like War of the Worlds or something. People here would freak!
July 19th, 2007 at 8:46 pm
Publish already! PUUUUUBLISSSH!!!! ~_~:;;;;
;_;
July 19th, 2007 at 10:05 pm
nuR421: I have been confused because I saw somewhere here picture from user(that user wasn´t admin) and on that picture was error from instaling Aquaria. And on his report was many answers about how they also can not instal it.And because of this I was very confused. So Aquaria is stil under development and nobody knows when it will be released.(Is it right?)
July 19th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
I’m surprised about this port. I’ll buy it, no doubt.
July 19th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Fuck yeah, Ulysses!
I’m gonna name one of my children that.
Czechman: It is right. No one knows when Aquaria will be released. The hacker thing was joke.
July 20th, 2007 at 12:50 am
Heh. Linux port? I’m suddenly interested in this game.
Will there be a demo and/or system requirements? My ATi card is really, really bad.
July 20th, 2007 at 5:43 am
This is what I was waiting for! As a Linux user (Ubuntu, specifically), I was very depressed over hearing that Aquaria was not going to be made for Linux platforms - but this video gives me a glimmer of hope (as well as my wallet, for now I do not have to buy a copy of Windows Vista or Mac OSX).
Thank you Bit-Blot, from the bottom of my heart. Your game looks to be an incredible adventure, and I’m looking forward to dumping out the contents of my checking account on your doorstep on sales day one.
Now, if only I knew when that would be…
July 20th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Wow, this is great news! I am really excited about this.
Yay!
July 20th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
I’m an ubuntu user, this game should been sold at a low price (2€-6€) by downloading it in .deb format for example
I will buy it, and a lot of people too for sure, it’s beautiful, it looks original and funny
congratulations
July 20th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
What, you don’t think this looks like it’s worth more than that, jorge? I certainly do. You’re only hurting Linux gaming with comments like that, making developers think we’re all cheapskates. Which we’re not, of course. Oh well, at least you didn’t tell them to open source it..
Anyway, awesome news! Thank you very much for starting work on the port! Looking forward to this.

Now you’re just teasing us, YOU ENJOY IT! DON’T YOU!?
July 23rd, 2007 at 1:07 am
Beautiful. You realise that when this comes out I’m going to quit my job and never leave the house!?
July 23rd, 2007 at 9:08 am
Dude, you guys, that is just an amazing looking game. Tour de force, savant, genious, awwe-inspiring, …………
well done.
July 23rd, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Wait, there’s going to be a linux port?
I’m afraid that I’ll be boycotting Bit Blot if this is the case.
My fiance’ was killed by a penguin.
True story.
July 25th, 2007 at 4:13 am
And what about a Mac OS X port?
July 25th, 2007 at 6:13 am
This game looks good, I hope someone puts in on Bearshare/Emule/Bittorrent.
July 25th, 2007 at 6:41 am
David Blumenstein, you are an idiot.
July 25th, 2007 at 6:50 am
Listen up and listen good son, my name isn’t Blumenstein, I’m white not a Jewboy.
July 25th, 2007 at 6:52 am
Wow, odd that you assumed I was talking to you…
July 25th, 2007 at 6:52 am
Yay! A confused racist!
July 25th, 2007 at 6:53 am
Alright, I’m not sure what you have against us, and why you’d want to see our business fail.
Care to explain yourself?
July 25th, 2007 at 7:04 am
I was just trolling, I do intend to buy the game.
Also I’m not an anti-semite, in fact I think Whites, Jews and Blacks should ally against their common foe: dirty Asians.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:06 am
So basically, you’re an asshole.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:11 am
Yes I am an asshole, I squat over the Internet voiding my poisonous bowels into your face and hair.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:11 am
Calm down, alec, I think you’re over-reac… no, wait, yep, cunt.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:13 am
I meant that more in the way that you’re a terrible human being. But somehow I think you know that.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:22 am
You’re right, I am a terrible person. I cry myself to sleep at night. Nobody wants to hold me anymore, because I can’t help but insult them whenever they try to hug me.
Will anyone ever love me?
Only time will tell.
Maybe some day, I will redeem myself, and become a real person.
July 25th, 2007 at 7:40 am
Ah, I see.
I hope over time you can overcome your problems and eventually rejoin the rest of humanity with a sense of dignity and respect for others.
July 25th, 2007 at 11:16 am
I bet David is the guy that snuck in and stole that video, BASTARD!
July 25th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
Well, it’s sad that this one got the most posts through a little arguement between someone who seems to want to destroy Bit Blot, and the owners of the fine establishment.
20 bucks on the Owners, that they’ll win. >>.
Good luck with the game, still.
July 26th, 2007 at 10:10 am
these kinds of things will keep me occupied until the game comes out, so im ok with it.
July 27th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
Good work, guys.
I can’t wait to support you with both my money and my words.

(Duplicate post from indygamer)
Apologies for intruding like this. I noticed that the original developer said they were having issues with SDL_mixer. If they developer has the time it would be great if the issue could be aired on the SDL development mailing list over listinfo.cgi/sdl-libsdl.org . It’s a bit arcane and there are no guarantees but you never know…
August 8th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
Funny! I was going to check out the forums and see if there was any news about a linux port; this is a very promising alternative to the forums.
Finally a game for ‘nix I want to buy

Wow, looks AWESOME! Wha– NATIVE Linux port too?!?! My friend…sign me up for the pre-order. In fact…just give me an address, and I will send you a blank check with my signature, and you can just fill in whatever you like for the amount.
Uh…just make sure its under $100…’cause that’s all I’ve got.
But seriously, you can bet your ass I will be buying this, and a copy for my girlfriend. (both Linux, of course)

Im thinking of buying solar panels because I firmly believe in protecting our kids future and securing a cheap energy source for them for many years to come. Have come across a guide about buyingSolar Panels so gonna use it when I buy my panels.

Was about to buy the windows version and use wine, but saw this. I hope the native version is still in development, very much would prefer to purchase that.
