Day Two - The Music of Aquaria
Welcome to Day Two of the Seven Days of Aquaria!
Yesterday we got to check out some of Derek’s art. Today we get to check out… some of mine. *Watches the monocles pop.*
Anyways, in addition to the code and co-design I also did the music for Aquaria! Most of you have heard some of the music on the trailers and previews and what not. Since the game has 53 music tracks (!) we thought it’d be cool to put together a little music demo reel.
SevenDaysMix has bits from 10 tracks, including the full title music. Enjoy!

Very fascinating music. I especially enjoy the unique combination of organic sounds in the main theme contrasted with synthesized arpeggios of some of the more tense themes. Aquaria, being a game of exploration and discovery, combined with a richly biological and natural environment is beautifully complemented by a sound track like this. The excited anticipation of discovering the unknown is accented by the modern sounds mixed into the tension building arpeggios, for which I can only assume would be a boss fight of some kind.
Bravissimo indeed! I can’t wait to discover the music of Aquaria.

Wow. I didn’t even hear about this game until today and I’m just as excited as everyone else! A soundtrack CD would definitely be worth it. This is some great music to listen to while just working on the computer.

I’ve been loving on the soundtrack since I watched the original trailer, and I’m really looking forward to it serving as a moody backdrop.
However, I’m curious, will you guys be letting us download the soundtrack in full? Will it be part of the game data that we can listen to separately?
Will it be a soundtrack we can purchase in a similar fashion to iTunes?

The music is wonderful.
A good game has story, but a great game integrates it with the human soul, and a way to do that is with great music.

although I’ve had my eyes on this game a few times I gotta say that this music clip sold me on it. I’m getting this game the day it’s out! (which is real soon).
The 2D art and music is amazing.

Yeah… this soundtrack is a perfect selection for a game this ambient and supergreat. The whole experience is magical.

I really appreiciate your wonderful music work! I like the type very much. Your music is to some extent quite like Ryan Farish’s music. I even found some really like some of the tracks in the album From the Sky.
