The thing I talked about with the fish drops some nicer items, tasty cakes and a few other Heal+2 things, but I haven't seen anything better than that come from it. That's what made me think maybe it drops something really nice at a rare chance.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the larger fish in the ocean (not the minibosses, but the very big ones that take a bit to kill like the fire breathing seahorse or thing surrounded by black fish in the Kelp Forest) might have a rare chance to drop a very nice food so you can get the recipe? Some of them might end up being guesswork, but it's worth a shot if they might have a rare chance to drop nice things. This is all speculation, though, and it'd suck to kill one 100 times for nothing. Sad
3  Aquaria / Gameplay / Aww, that's cute (a bit of spoilers) on: December 11, 2007, 07:00:14 AM
That's an idle activity, I believe. Automatically happens. I found it during a certain singing puzzle, and it annoyed me because I thought I had solved it when something was happening... But no. Sad

The turtle I haven't figured out, maybe rocks just scare him. Tongue

As for the armor, you need a way to increase your speed just barely.

Beast form gives you a fine boost to your charging ability, but you need just a little more.
5  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: Need advice on where to go next (near the end of the game) on: December 11, 2007, 05:33:26 AM
I found an ice area there, an ice cave and an ice veil, but didn't find anything there of interest, it seemed empty. I'll search around it again.
That's the east, I think.

If you hear a deep and booming voice with a menacing message, you're in the right area.

If you've already heard that, go back to where you did.

The thing is I just keep dying, often when I try to get close while it's drawing in and I miss it and get stuck somewhat behind it, reducing my health. I do need to stock up on healing objects, that's probably the key- because I've gotten up to feeding him three poisoned frogmen before he goes ballistic and shoots the stream of energy balls. What should I do when it does that?

I should do better next time I face him, I have more health now than I had before due to a powerup in the kelp forest, but it still is a bit aggravating. Is there any pointers to switch between regular with shield form to reflect his blasts and then energy form to him in the back . What about places to hide without getting scooped up?
Ahh, you've actually gotten so close! Tongue

When he goes berserk and starts shooting the streams of fireballs, he won't make any more friends.

Just eat an Energy+1 food and start firing until he finally gives up and dies.

Make note of the reddish flower in the area just above the boss room, but you can't do anything to it until you get a form that is more... Natural.

In other words, you can't get that orb just yet. Continue on, but don't forget that flower there!

Unfortunately after you get Nature Form, in order to advance any further you need to fight "that cathedral boss". Tongue

I can give you pointers, though, if you'd like.

Are you stuck on him, or is the cathedral just too hard in general? It's a tough zone, especially for the first(ish) one in the game.

Yes, Mia's reference to "changing diapers and burping babies" (I think that's what it was) implies that Li and Naija had or planned to have had several children. However many they managed before the confrontation, however, is open to guessing. There could be very many, even, and perhaps in the next part we'll play all of them for a time. Tongue Very open-ended, and annoying like that, haha. Lips Sealed

How do you get Ice Chunks?
The blue crabs in the Ice Cave drop them. Smiley
11  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: The ending, final boss, etc. [Obviously spoilers] on: December 11, 2007, 03:52:45 AM

I was actually thinking it might be Naija and Li's child. Like it's set quite far in the future, and they've decided to go and search for their mother (who to them would have just disappeared into thin air). They have green skin like Naija, but hair and features akin to Li, so... It makes sense that if it has both of their features it could very well be their now grown child.

It seems we will have to find some of these on our own, through experimentation.

I'm not sure which one you're missing, but it'd take too long for me to list off all of the 10 pages I have. Sad

Finding 12 recipes through guesswork, with a maximum of three ingredients... Hoo boy.
13  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: Nature form! on: December 11, 2007, 03:45:12 AM
It can do anything you imagine... (echo)

I mean, uh, yeah... That's really it. The seeds are used for quick(er) transport, if you can figure out where to plant them, though.

Also, the anemones can't hurt you in nature form... And you can kill them with your briar pillars.

Other than that, you can get some nice velocity if you launch yourself with one, too. Smiley

It's a fun form, despite it being the least easy to use.
14  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: Ixis' Treasure Hunter's FAQ on: December 11, 2007, 03:27:14 AM
Grr, still need ~14 recipes!

Magic Soup and Royal Soup will get us to 10 full pages, but there are three pages left!
I have ten full pages now. o_o

Let me see what I've got that this list hasn't, really quick. I'll edit when I do.

Hot Borscht
Hot Soup + Red Berry + Red Bulb
Heal+3, Speed+1/30sec

Cold Soup
Any Soup + Any Ice Chunk
No Effect

Are those two that you don't have? Lips Sealed
15  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: Where is the fish form? on: December 11, 2007, 03:20:56 AM
The octopus is actually inside of another, much larger creature. Getting inside, though, is another story.

Try to snoop around dark areas you couldn't when you didn't have a light source like (I hope) you do now, and you'll find a picture of said large creature with a song to sing to it.
