The Wiimote feels like a floating boat more then an accurate mouse.

A few days training on Umbrella Chronicles fixes that, trust me :p
I mean you don't just need headshots in that game, you need "Forehead shots". Never before will your accuracy with a Wiimote be tested

Metroid Prime 3 also demonstrates how to capably replace a mouse and analogue sticks in a first Person Shooter environment (And works spectacularly. Honestly enjoyed it more than Halo 3). I will admit that The Wii's Best GAmes all same to be Nintendos own, which I'd put down to their reputation with 3rd party development (ie. Whar is it?)

Surprisngly not too far from where you are

What you need to do is when you reach the bottom of the Abyss (Where the Body Tongue is), instead of going east to where the entrance to The Body is, head West through the caves towards the West Exit. You'll eventually encounter the door to the Sunken City.

Sounds like you need something to light the place up: What you want to do is head to a place North East of Open Waters, you may need Spirit Form to get there thought

If you start going north a lot and reach a place called The Veil you're in the right direction :p There's plenty of things to be done there

Has anyone else noticed that the verse can be heard in most of the background music in one form or another if you listen carefuly enough? I noticed it when I was cycling through musics with the ancient turtles the music in open waters is particularly prominent in verseyness.


Noticed it plenty, and was glad it was actually part of the main story too.  The Verse Theme is revisted in many forms throughout the soundtrack, up until it becomes a usable song.

It was also still awesome.

I dunno why they didn't just work Prey into being Duke3D after all, plot's still "American Guy vs Aliens, 3D Realms' Trademark 'Interactive public Bathrooms', one liners you get sick of after a while" :p Wouldn've taken them as long

Duke still has its humor, but I do wonder if it's still fresh after all these years. He did pinch just about every line from Bruce Campbell mind :p

May be some *Spoilers* here, so beware!



- Set before the events of Aquaria, what destroyed Eric's city? Freak Storm or Something Else? Before the world below the sea was modified by the Creator, was it just a blank canvas or was there already something ancient living within? What is it's story? Currently not much has been explained about this time so you're free to go nuts (Although, without the aid of Time Travel, it's not possible Naija would exist here, so new characters abound)

Beyond the Veil
- The sequal seems to promise an answer to this question but the world is a big place.  What other mysteries lie on land and in the sky?

A day at the races
- Naija enters a series of underwater tournaments to determine the champion of the sea. Race with Seahorses, forms, overcome obstacles and puzzles the quickest and win supreme glory against the other races (Think Aquarian Olympics)

Mithalian Delivery Service
- Crazy Taxi in the City of Mithala, why not? :p

Boss Rush
- Has been suggested, still a good idea.  Possibility to including rewards/rankings based on Time/Damage

Evolution in 60 seconds
- Start of as a fish, and evolve your way up the Aquarian food chain by eating other enemies (A bit like Feeding Frenzy)

Mithala defense
- Sing songs to create buildings (Entities) like Turrets and Shields - Defend against waves of incoming enemies

Aquarian DDR
- Various coloured shapes move up to Naija. When they reach her you must sing that particular note.  Could either be a minigame or just disable movement and have the whole thing as a few levels of this Cheesy Could also have fun with Animations too :p (In fact... I think I might try this one Cheesy )

You can attempt to do what I did and extract 'em via the Animation Editor (Load up an animation, seperate all the bones and screenshot it) but obviously:

a) The background's grey gradient, which means careful use of the magic wand
b) Anti-Aliasing and Scaling helps you lose data
c) They'll all be the wrong orientation

Still, managed to give her different hair and didn't look *too* bad, but the originals at least would be handy for basing new characters off

Figured out "Hair" too, so that opens the door for a replacement cloak (Although I'm still pondering Costumes/Skins and how they work)

What would be really handy is a way to override the Avatar skin without having it classed as a Costume, but I guess for the sake of small mods it won't be too big a deal

But yes, that brings me on to my next question: How do Skins/Costumes work: What does a typical file look like? I could create a graphic with *All* the animation copied in but I'd have thought there'd be a way that simply replaces the graphics of the bones, but keeps the animation

If not, I can probably figure something out...

A lot of the times names are pinched from various Mythologies, good ones to look at are Norse, Egyption, Greek and Babylonian.  Final Fantasy in particular pinches names left right and center from 'ere (Freya? Midgar? Ydrassil? Odin? Ragnarok? Valhalla? Valkyrie? etc.), and you'll probably recognise a few other ones too Cheesy

Naming after plants/flowers is also quite popular in Japanese

Also, don't hesitate to look through both a) The Christian Bible, any version and b) Dante's The Divine Comedy: Both are harvested regularly for quotes, names, plots etc.Cheesy

Monster Hunter Cheesy

My current fave "I'm bored, let's go kill some dragons". Ridiculous amount of stuff to do from cooking, alchemy and various weapon classes and trees to explore.  It's very Phantasy Star Online (Groups of 4 only plz) except instead of grinding through dungeons you're travelling across the land, setting up traps, hunting beasts and slaying ridiculously overpowered Dragons.  VERY dependent on Skill instead of numbers/gear (Which you can't buy either.  All gear is crafted from kills)

Not really an MMO though, but still...

Agreed. Li seems to do nothing throughout the whole story but

a) Occasionally hug you (awww...)
b) Shoot things
c) Get captured

He says nothing, he does nothing, his history isn't explained. He simply *is*.  While I'm certainly not one to dismiss "Love at First Sight", I thought it was a bit much of that particular sub-plot making it believable (Much like Neo and Trinity's "Relationship", which pretty much was just "Hi, shall we be in love?" "k".  It's a shame because you could've made him such a more prominant character (Starting with giving him a proper introduction rather than one that 9/10 people seem to miss, me included :p Didn't spot him the first time, went in and out the cave, eventually found 'im)

It would also give the endings, particularly Ending #2 a lot more meaning

However, one thing I'd be 110% behind is the idea of new official/semi-official expansion campaigns, as brought up by Alec. A new story, with gameplay shifted more towards story/exporation/puzzling/action/whatever. I'd gladly pay £5-10 for another full campaign with a fresh angle, even if it reused a lot of content from the base game

This is more or less what the project Aquaria Adventure is about isn't it? Shift out the action orientated parts of Aquaria into a more puzzle/exploration/ambient sort of thing - Would appeal to a lot of people too

If, for whatever reason, you do the Body first and not to the Jellyfish Boss, I have to say that because of the endless supply of Jellyfish, Dual Form works wonders on the Jellyfish boss, meaning you can at least have jellyfish outfit ready for the final boss and Gauntlet

That said, it probably works wonders on anything that spawns additional bad guys Cheesy
