1  Aquaria / Support / Re: How to Download the Latest Version: 1.1.1 on: October 16, 2012, 10:26:02 AM
Thanks for the help.

I already tried out your converter, but it seems to not work correctly (if at all); It only creates a folder for the new installer, and terminates after that. I'm using Windows XP with all the latest updates. Specs: C2D E6750 (2,66ghz), 2GB RAM, Geforce GTS250; there's enough space on all the drives.

I already checked out the installer, and it really seems to be one of the first builds (as in - version 1.0, from 17/12/2007). I'd be glad to help you with any possibilities to create a working version, and as long as both Alec and Derek won't have anything against it, I can leave it on my private server for you to download.

Glad to see someone's still around here.

Hm... I haven't thought about it. If the game really went open source and the community is already supporting the game's further development, it shouldn't be a problem to update it from 1.0, as long as I have the original installer, right? :)

If that's the case, I'll wait for the next release :)

Ah, man. I'm so happy to know, I will be able to play Aquaria once again.

Hey there guys.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me anymore, but I used to be one of more active users on these forums in the past. Lately I felt a little bit nostalgic and decided to dust up Aquaria and give it another go. I also remembered there was a new version out, but by the time I finished the game it wasn't available yet. It would be an awesome thing to try it out now, although I'm not sure whether anything is still available after so much time had passed.

Fortunately, I still have the original receipt of payment and it seems even the Plimus site still has it in it's DB.... though from what I skimmed through the topic, it seems there are some problems with getting a possibility to download the game again.

If anyone reads this - is there any chance I would still be able to get the latest update for Aquaria?

Thanks in advance.

Not so much Glamador, not so much. I had more than few important e-mails shifted through them and they never came back. I had this funny situation, when I was waiting for some important stuff, and after a week of delay or more I asked "Where the %$&%ck are my e-mails", only to discover they were in the spam folder  Shocked.

Spam is evil, I tell you.
5  Aquaria / General / Re: Awesome, awesome game... Keep up the fantastic work! on: June 05, 2008, 11:52:24 AM
I should try Bioshock then.
I played Assasin's Creed recently and it was really big disappointment - not even technically impresive for me Smiley
But I recommend you to play The Witcher...if you like strong storyline and a different look on a fantasy world (perhaps you have already read Sapkowski's books), then you will love it. Just be sure to download latest patch Smiley
BTW the funny thing is that I enjoyed Aquaria in terms of graphical appealance more then those rather big projects like Assasin's Creed or The Witcher Smiley But it's perhaps because I simply like 2D games more then 3D.

I've never played Assasin's Creed - it seems this game doesn't made a big shock on me, and after I have read your posts I don't think I'll ever put my sticky fingers on this title. As for the Witcher... Hell yeah. After the team has made some remarkable changes and improvements, they released in newest patch, the game earned alot. I also downloaded the newest nvidia drivers and it looks like everything runs even more smoother on my pc, so I'm going to play the game again Smiley, just looking for a bit more free time to spare. glamador, you can play play The Witcher now, you won't be dissapointed  Wink

Aquaria has something deep inside.  It's an emotional game, right from the beggining to the very end. I think it's a feature we all missed in few last years, and that's why we have been all astonished.

Wow, these look really great! Big thanks for sharing some of your work with us, Derek. I have to admit that second sprite was really nice, I like it the most from all. I'm definately looking forward to see the game again after new patch will be released Smiley

Awesome...  Shocked

I'm really amazed with your work, these desktop wallpapers look fantastic. I'd only wish to have that large screen  to fit them in Cheesy

9  Aquaria / General / Re: Aquaria hit the P2P on: February 14, 2008, 11:01:19 AM
Hmm, yeah...

I also use torrents, but I do this mainly only for the things I can't get by any normal means in my country or anime, which is also rather hard to get. I used to download some games,  but as Alpha said earlier, I also always bought every title I downloaded. I see it as a justification when somebody buys the thing, he downloaded from a torrent earlier and it seems o.k. to me in that situation. It's normal, we will propably never get rid of this, but at least it's way more better than normal piracy. Most of groups invloved into preparing the torrents are just people who do it for fun, testing their hacking and programming skills and they don't want to make any profits out of this. It's obvious, that you can even see some messages from them, placed in the notes: "If you liked the game, buy it! Support game developers! Don't steal other's work!", and it's also ok. I hate normal piracy, but torrents are kinda justified because of this.

It's just a matter of honesty and truth of various people; how do they react, or get invloved into this. Again...
10  Bit Blot / Off-Topic / Re: Clinton, Obama, or McCain? on: February 14, 2008, 10:42:28 AM
I hope Obama wins, even if I shouldn't talk to much, because it's not my country  Wink. Anyway, you can now, that Obama could be a good president, and I pray for this to happen. It's an opportunity for you all. Also, some things might finally change into better ones...
11  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: Aquaria Treasure Hunter's Maps on: February 14, 2008, 10:29:23 AM
Wow! Incredible and amazing work you done there! The map's got everything, what's needed. If you do have time to make some additional work on this stuff, try to make the legend, so everything will be fully clear to all people, because some might just not understand for what some spots are placed for  Smiley.

and keep up the good work  Smiley
12  Bit Blot / Off-Topic / Re: Introduce Yourself! on: February 13, 2008, 11:03:22 AM
Huh, much you've made in such a short time  Smiley Wish I could be as creative as you, Caleb  Smiley

Anyways, welcome!
13  Aquaria / General / Re: Aquaria fanart [spoilers] on: February 07, 2008, 11:02:24 AM
@Xiagan: I agree  Shocked

Quite intriguing graphic style you have  there, keep up the good work  Wink. Btw, maybe I'm to curious, but I think Naija in beast form doesn't have hair but some sort of natural hood. Gotta ask Derek about it  Smiley
14  Aquaria / Modding / Re: Naija sprites on: February 07, 2008, 12:34:51 AM
Alec was working on the override for this. I'm watinig for it, since emotions are essential for my mod character Tongue
15  Aquaria / Gameplay / Re: How to beat lobster in the ice cave? on: February 05, 2008, 10:58:51 PM
You're doing everything great, practice makes perfect  Wink

Have pity on us and next time don't start another thread with the same subject, especially if everything was well explained in last one  Tongue
