Mainscreen, "Exit" Wink But I don't think that it's the only one...

Took you guys long enough.  It's been possible to get most of the alphabet since mid-June. Tongue

Edwards

I don't really get why we should wanted the alphabet in mid-june. We have the game since 1-2 days, NOW it's interesting.

Just out of curiosity, when did the game come out? I got it around Christmas.
Haha, I also deciphered the runes when I realized they were one-to-one with the alphabet on the main menu, but mainly because I thought that would be how you got special recipes!

Inside Mithalas:

As he creates
So will he destroy
Watching us from every shadow
He is The Abyss
Taken form to new waves (I may have translated this wrong, given that it makes little sense)
We must escape
         ... Sauguin

I translated this too, and you translated it correctly, but the writing is formated like this...

AS HE CREATED
SO WILL HE DESTROY
WATCHING US FROM EVERY SHADOW
HE IS THE ABYSS TAKEN FORM

TO NEW WAVES
WE MUST ESCAPE
                - SAUGUIN

Oh, and the Aquarian in Bit Blot's site is...

NAIJA OF THE PROPHECY

Under Naija's page, and...

FEAR THE DARK
THE BELLY OF
THE HELLBEAST
               -SAUGUIN

under the Creatures page next to Mithala's silhouette.

It's so cool being able to see what people from long ago wrote everywhere. I'd like to know what the Erulian histories are, though, because all we know about that race is that the Krotites wiped them out and they could bind objects to themselves.

Reading all this makes me want to wish for a prequel game so we could see this Sauguin dude (or dudette, you never know) in action.

Eh... that's not completely necessary. From what I gather Sauguin was likely one of the insane priests that found out about the Creator (or "greater god" as they put it) and corrupted Mithala.

I wish that we had more information on the races of Aquaria. All we got in-game was roughly "They were all peaceful, with the exception of the Krotites, and were all promptly destroyed by a jealous god." I'd kill for some more extensive backstory or something.

Well...that's not really ALL they said about the races.  But I suppose there could have been a little more backstory.

That's hopefully where the promise of modding comes in. There's a lot of grey space to fill in reguards to Aquaria Backstory that may or may not be covered in any sequal/prequals planned or unplanned, so it's up to the creative community to do it.  Mithala obviously has merit for exploration being one of the most prominant areas of exploration, while Krotite and such less so (The Krotite war that decimated several civillisations, for example, could be a possibly mod storyline)

Of course, there's always... What was in the water before the Creator turned up...?

I would say all the odd schools of fish you see swimming about.  The creator seemed only to have created the sentient creatures of the sea, and perhaps some of the monsters.

I thought the Creator made the Gods who made the people, then decimated the people to try and teach the Gods a very childish lesson.

The whole game I thought there would be a translation song, and even when I got to the ending screen, I thought it might unlock some sort of translation.  Only big let down I felt.  I'm really glad that you guys and gals are taking the time to translated the runes.  Thanks a bunch, and I hope we see some more...

I was searching recently for a picture someone posted on here that showed the runes from the editor, but I couldn't find it. It's more accurate than that hand-drawn version we have so far, because I'm having trouble matching them right now. (also can't find mention of stuff translated from Open Waters)

That's a really nice picture.  Now I can translate all that text in the Sun Temple Worm's room!  I'm sure it's somewhere around, but I want to translate it myself.
