I've got:
NES (still works but one must be nice to it)
GameBoy Color
GameCube
Wii(most recent addition)
Around five old G3 towers/desktops (mac)
an iBook G4

had:
Commador 64/128 (it was a sad day when it finally kicked the bucket.)
Apple II
LC
IICI
Quadra pro
Performa

I think I'm about 3-5 years behind the latest and greatest but, the slowest turtle gets the best deals on used hardware, until a major change in the market, such as the change to intel chips in mac, but that seems like it didn't change the mac much other than being able to "possibly" run exe files. (I have not seen it done, but I haven't heard of it actually working. Though I have not looked that hard.)

Let's see... I had:

Intellivision
Atari 2600
Commodore 64
NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Gameboy

(Yeah, I'm a Nintendo stalwart, what can I say?"

PS1
Several PCs, starting with a Pentium 75 all the way up to my current gaming rig (which is all I have now).

Of course, I have all my old console games emulated on my PC, as old consoles and games aren't always around. I kept my old Gamecube controller and bought a USB adapter for it. Sweet times.

Wha... you PC Users Don't make out with yours!?!

(Mac user, with aquaria (dem0 through parallels, waiting on yonder mac port Smiley  )

Want:

Xbox 360
Wonderswan Colour
Saturn (replacement)

Have:

Nintendo:
NES
SNES
Super Famicon (import SNES)
Nintendo 64
Gamecube
Gameboy
Gameboy Advance
Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS

Sega:
Master System
Genesis
Mega Drive (Import Genesis)
Sega CD
Sega Dreamcast
Game Gear
Nomad

Sony:
Playstation 3
Playstation Portable Slim
Playstation Portable
Playstation 2
Playstation

Other:
3DO
Lynx
Jaguar CD
Turbo Duo (has issues working, would replace it if they didn't cost $300-400)

I also have some other assorted systems of varying states of repair, many of them in storage.  I have to say I've had a fall-out with Nintendo and will not be purchasing a Wii, I barely touched my Gamecube (it got less use than most of my "weird" systems), and I'm not enthused by motion control.  In fact, I haven't really used my DS for much more than Etrian Odyssey and the castlevania games (which I've given up hope on ever doing anything unique and interesting again).  I'm probably one of the few on the forum I'm sure who does not own or want the Wii, and also probably one of the few with a PS3, but I've already gotten a ton of use out of my PS3 while there has yet to be a game released on the Wii I'd play.  Eventually when Xbox 360 gets enough exclusives I'll pick it up, but for the most part my gaming PC and the PS3 have access to most of the non-sucking library besides genre's I don't play (namely FPS, sports and racing).  Folklore alone was worth the purchase of my PS3, but my fiance has gotten a ton of use out of it for Assassin's Creed, Ratchet & Clank Future, and Uncharted.  Overall though for next-gen systems I've been most impressed by the PSP, it gets a ton of use from both myself and my fiance and my library for it has long surpassed any of the nintendo systems since the SNES days.  While I'm not a fan of Sony's anti-2D standpoint (which has softened over the years), I've been dissapointed by the stagnation and lack of design improvements on the 2-D genres even with support from Nintendo.  The problem is that all the 2-D content that is being supported by nintendo usually makes use of silly little gimmicks and the actual game design hasn't improved much at all since the SNES days.  Aquaria for me was one of the greatest improvements on the "Metroidvania" style open action-adventure genre in ages and did far more for it than any Castlevania title since SotN.  It's the first to remove the awful outdated and stagnant 2-d platforming that exists in literally all of them and came up with a very fluid combat system reminicent of SCHMUPs, a platform that's taken 2-d combat to almost perfection.  I can only hope more people play Aquaria and use it as a basis for design improvements and innovation in the future of the genre.

  • Had:
- Hercules ATX PC (Something like 8 or 15 mhz, I don't remember now)
- 150mhz Cirix PC with Voodoo RUSH special edition graphics card! Cheesy

  • Own:
- Atari Video Computer System
- Commodore 64 + giant archive of cassettes and cartridges
- Helwett Packard Bell PC (yes, this 486DX one)
- own Up-to-date PC

  • Wants:
- Geforce 8800 GTX or Ultra
- SNES

  • Doesn't think about:
- XBOX 360
- PS3

All of the things from older stuff are still working, though the Packard Bell PC has more than 11 years of hard work! It's a pitty that I never own a NES or SNES, although I played alot on those, mostly with my friends on their own ones. It's also sad that I had a little touch with Amiga computers. But I have to say I'm amazed - you guys mostly have an archives of all that stuff  Cheesy

Let's have a thinksie...
Under my TV right now is... an Xbox and... the detachable cover-things for my Wii (My sisters temporarely stolen the actual console...).
I'm sitting at my nifty PC. It's starting to age but, through the cunning purchases of various innards + external soundcard, remains a mighty gaming machine. Surround sound (My latest upgrade) is awesome.  Cool

I have had in the past:
Numerous PC's of varying computing power and graphical prowess.
My first console experience with the NES.
Followed, a long time after, with an N64 that I borrowed off a friend.
Followed by a PS2, borrowed off a different friend. Melted in my care...
Followed by my own personal GameCube.
A SNES that I borrowed for the sake of it. It's still around in fact, four years later.
A PS that I borrowed to play the FF games on.

As for the handhelds I have\had:
2x GameBoy's
GameBoy Advance
And my DS.

What I want now is an Xbox 360. Has to be a white one though, so when it stands next to my Wii it'll look like the Wii is it's illigitimate child, or gastard to use a Douglas Adams term.
