Hmm, I'm thinking of drawing something based on Aquaria, but I don't know what... I draw in my spare time, btw. I just so happen to have some talent in that area.

Well, I want to draw something from Aquaria. I like to have variety in my drawings, and don't use one theme for more than a few of them. I just thought Aquaria would be fun to draw. I usually have to draw something more than once for it to turn out good, and I'm one of those people who need things to look good. If I know I could do a drawing better in some way I usually redo it. I don't have a scanner, but I could find someone who does. Or just take a picture with a digital camera, although those sometimes don't show enough detail.

Drawing things twice is the best way if you have the patience for it, and it's very often something that comes with time and learning, but some people are naturally that way inclined, does that describe you? If so then I am quite envious because I couldn't stand redrawing things intil recently. And draw what you want or the act of drawing is a chore...

I usually draw what I am interested in for the moment (Right now I'm interested in Aquaria ) Or if I get a sudden inspiration by something that I just have to draw. I do most of my drawings with a plain ol' pencil, so most of them are black & white, I usually don't color them unless I designed them to be colored. Some of my drawings tend to be a little sketchy, but sometimes I intend it that way. Sometimes you have to look away from the details and just look at the entire picture. I am mostly inclined to try a few things out before I get something I like, although sometimes I just stick with what I have, especially if I have this really good bit that I'm not sure I could pull off. I just had a good idea for a drawing in mid-type (like a scene just showed up in my mind... weird) I'll probably end up coloring it, but I'll post something as soon as the initial part is finished.

My tribute to this beautiful game; Naija in Mithalas, pencil & ink -work. Quoting again for awesome. I guess that is what original game misses. A splashscreens for some situations/action/meets/etc...

Aw man, that makes my piece look like crap. Now I have to redo it. Really, though, what saddens me about my drawing is that I got a bit lazy trying to finish it, then rushed it because I just wanted to get it over with. It just doesn't look too... artistic. Also, the piece of paper I had been using has been carried around quite a bit, and the work I've done earlier on it faded a bit in contrast to the latter additions. Maybe I was too ambitious; my scene was supposed to be Naija in energy form approaching the energy god, but he turned out to be not as much fun to draw as I thought. I think I'll redraw a similar scene without him. Seriously, that up there is demoralizing.

Okay, it's finished. Not as good as the above picture, but I still think it's okay. Oh, and the quality didn't turn out as good as I would have liked because I had to photograph this. EDIT: Okay, that looks horrible. Gonna try to mess with the lighting a bit. Heh, maybe I should have drawn sun form instead. Here's a bigger version, don't know if it helps. http://i86.servimg.com/u/f86/12/56/27/81/aqua10.jpg So, originally this was going to be Naija in energy form approaching the god. I drew that one, decided I should make another, started it. Got sick. Busy. Then procrastination hit. By the time I got around to finishing it, the part I started was all smudged and the paper was pretty crumpled. Fortunately, the really great picture reposted just before mine motivated me to make another one. First I was going to have the energy god as a silhouette with glowing eyes. Then a shadow. Then, as I started adding more detail to the cave, I decided to scrap him altogether. Also, I decided to leave Naija in normal form since I just thought she looked better that way, although she was supposed to be 'holding' fire in her hands, which is why they are in such a strange position.

Haven't been here for awhile. Odd to find my old picture still hanging here Zoko, it's good to finish picture even if there are hardships, I have found it quite instructive at the end. Hm, now I want to draw Naija in Energy form too This is the usual image of Naija when I think about Aquaria. Naija sitting on a rock, and some light shining through water. It's quite sad image, as it refers to her loneliness. It took about 2-3 hours to finish this from a sketch, this time I wanted to add more "underwater" effect. Graphite pencil work.
